There are many Christians Evangelicals that are hoping for the rapture in order to escape the coming Tribulation. Those hopes may be based on false assumptions. This great article explains what I have come to believe over many years of study on the subject.
Of course, the Pre-Tribbers have a lot of Scriptural ammo to use on the Post-Tribbers. Both positions are at their strongest when proving the other wrong. There are a couple of key verses in Matthew 24 which tie the whole doctrine together beautifully for those willing to see them.
Why am I not surprised to find someone who takes the beginning of the Bible seriously consider the end important? π
As I commented on the original post, I am a firm believer in the “rapture;” I’m just not convinced about the timing of it. I want to be ready for the worst, then, if the Pre-tribbers are right, “Oh Happy Day!” π
If you’re interesting in knowing what Jesus said about where the rapture fits in, e-mail me. There is a way to piece things together where you don’t have to do any “explaining” just string the Bible together and it’s right there.
BTW it was the Revelation Record with Morris’ extensive Scripture lists which proved to me the Pre-Trib position doesn’t have enough support for me to trust it. Until then, I hadn’t studied enough to make a stand one way or another. π
